The foundation of our expertise is many years of research and design experience, but we don't stand still. Each research challenge is also an opportunity for us to grow. We explore new industries, test innovative approaches, and combine methods.

Katarzyna Drożdżal

I’m a researcher and a designer, and also the co-founder of Selkie, where I direct the agency and its research services development.

Since 2007, I’ve been involved in research, and since 2014, I’ve kept my focus on projects related to creating and developing digital products. I co-organise an international conference called World Usability Day Silesia (WUD Silesia). Additionally, I’m a lecturer at postgraduate User Experience Design studies (SWPS University) and E-Marketing (WSE / SWPS University). My passions lie in cyberpsychology, narrative psychology, personality psychology, and social psychology. In research, I focus my attention on areas concerning processes of self-regulation among users of digital products.

About WUD Silesia

WUD Silesia is an international conference, gathering UX specialists and software engineering experts from all over the world. It has been held annually in Silesia for over a decade now.

Agnieszka Sysoł

Researcher and auditor

I’m a researcher, an auditor and a media specialist. I work on projects regarding usability, user experience design, as well as product development strategy engineering. My interests include accessibility problems and solutions for people with visual dysfunctions.
I’ve always been involved in the creative industry. I’m a cultural scientist, interested in new media art and visual arts. Furthermore, I create design strategies and external communication for companies, LGUs, and non-governmental organisations.

Agata Magdalena Nowak

Design researcher

I’m a user experience researcher and a designer. I co-founded Selkie in 2018. I’m an experienced coach, a workshop facilitator and a lecturer, specialised in design research, usability testing, as well as running business and participatory workshops. Moreover, I work as a User Experience expert at SWPS University in Katowice (UXD programme). I also act as the artistic director and one of the main coordinators of an international educational event, WUD Silesia. I have a degree in Psychology and have completed transdisciplinary artistic studies at Geneva University of Art and Design.

Paweł Nowak

UX Designer

I primarily work as a product and service designer, specialising in User Experience (UX) and Service Design since 2009. I initiated and organise the international conference WUD Silesia. Since 2016, I’ve led the NOWY research/project collective. Before this, I gained eight years of experience as a lead UX designer and User Experience team leader at Future Processing. Currently, I collaborate with my team, combining knowledge and expertise from diverse fields to develop solutions that address complex challenges of today. I conduct training courses on service and digital products design, complexity science and system design. I lecture on User Experience Design at SWPS University in Katowice. I’m a computer science graduate at Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, and the author of “Design in the Complex World” newsletter.
